New Delhi: The burden of inflation has increased for the public right at the start of September. Indian petroleum companies have raised LPG cylinder prices, dealing a shock to customers. The price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been hiked by ₹9.50. Following this hike, the new price in Delhi has reached ₹2,747.50. Just a month ago, commercial cylinder prices had been reduced by ₹209. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders used in households.

Purchasing commercial cylinders has become more expensive following this price hike. In the capital, Delhi, the price has reached ₹2,747.50; previously, it was ₹2,738. In Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, the price has risen to ₹2,701 from the earlier ₹2,691—an increase of ₹10 per cylinder. In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the price has reached ₹2,916.50, up from ₹2,906, marking an increase of ₹10.50. Commercial cylinders are used by businesses such as hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and catering services.

On August 1st, the price of commercial cylinders was cut by ₹192. At that time, the price in Delhi dropped to ₹2,738. A month before that, in July, a reduction of ₹183.50 had been recorded for the 19-kg cylinder. Notably, there was no change in domestic gas cylinder prices during those instances either. Sharp Rise in Gas Cylinder Prices This Year
It is worth noting that commercial gas cylinder prices have seen a sharp increase this year. On December 1st of last year, the price was recorded at ₹580.50. By January 1st of this year, it had risen to ₹1,691.50.
Subsequently, in February, the price was raised to ₹1,740.50. In March, significant price hikes were recorded twice due to the US-Iran conflict; specifically, the price of a commercial cylinder reached ₹1,768.50 on March 1st and ₹1,883 on March 7th. By April 1st, it had climbed to ₹2,078.50.
Status of Domestic Cylinders
There has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder this month either. It was previously anticipated that the general public might get some relief regarding domestic cylinder prices on September 1st. The last price revision occurred on June 7, 2026. Currently, the price of a non-subsidised LPG cylinder in Delhi stands at ₹942. Prices are recorded at ₹968 in Kolkata, ₹941.50 in Mumbai, and ₹957.50 in Chennai.
