ISSO National Sports Chess Championship
Adani International School hosted the ISSO National Games Chess Competition 2025, bringing together 370 students from 80 institutions across 10 countries. The two-day event included four age groups, and attracted a significant number of chess enthusiasts.
Adani International School, located in Shantigram, transformed into a hub of intellectual challenge and strategic thinking as it hosted the ISSO National Games Chess Competition 2025.
The two-day event saw over 370 students from more than 80 seminaries across 10 countries participating. Including parents, coaches, and supporters, the event attracted more than 650 attendees.
The competition featured four age categories — Under-11, Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 — giving young players at every level the opportunity to demonstrate their skills.
Over the course of two days, participants displayed strong strategic thinking, composure, and adaptability on the chessboard.
The inauguration of the event was graced by Namrata Adani, the principal of Adani International School, who interacted with the young contestants in a supportive manner.
Chess personalities such as Bhavesh Patel, former Secretary of the Gujarat State Chess Association and Vice-President of the All India Chess Federation, and Grandmaster Ankit Rajpara addressed the gathering. They shared their insights and knowledge, inspiring the next generation of chess players.

The competition coincides with a rising success of Indian chess on the global stage, with young talents like R Praggnanandhaa and D Gukesh achieving international recognition.
The school emphasized that such events are vital in nurturing the future champions of chess.
At the conclusion of the event, awards were presented to winners in each category.
The highlight came with the announcement of Chatrabhuj Narsee School, Mumbai, as the Overall Champions. Indus International School, Hyderabad, was named Runners-Up. Both schools were praised for their performance and sportsmanship.
