Heavy to torrential rainfall is predicted across various parts of the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has even issued a ‘Red Alert’. Heavy rain is expected in districts ranging from Gujarat to Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has issued Red and Orange alerts for regions including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Heavy rainfall is highly likely within the next two to three hours. Additionally, the Meteorological Department has warned of strong winds and lightning strikes accompanying the heavy rain in several areas.

High Alert in These Areas

The Meteorological Department has stated that heavy rain will occur in several places, including Ahmedabad (Gujarat), and has issued Red and Orange alerts for these regions. Affected areas include Patna, Gandhinagar, Kutch, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. Intense rainfall is expected, and the department has also warned of potential lightning strikes in these areas.

When Was the Alert Issued?

Regarding the timing of the alert, it has been issued for a three-hour window; rainfall is expected from 2:00 PM through the afternoon. Orange alerts have also been issued for areas such as Udaipur, Narmada, Porbandar, Surat, and Rajkot.

Where Will It Rain in Uttar Pradesh?

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rainfall is expected in Lucknow, Hardoi, Barabanki, Sitapur, and Unnao. Meanwhile, Orange alerts have been issued for Doda, Rajouri, and several other areas in Jammu & Kashmir.

The Meteorological Department has advised everyone to stay alert due to the adverse weather conditions—specifically the rain and lightning—and has urged people to plan their outdoor activities accordingly. Weather Department Advisory

The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory urging the public to remain alert if they are planning to travel. You are advised to avoid visiting—or to cancel plans to visit—areas where heavy rainfall is likely. However, if travel to such an area is absolutely essential—specifically where there is a possibility of lightning and heavy rain—you should proceed with extreme caution and remain fully alert.

So, if you are planning to visit any area in Uttar Pradesh or Gujarat, please plan your route based on the information and alert maps provided by the Meteorological Department. Heavy lightning and torrential rain are expected in several places.
