He wrote on X, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic incident at the Maha Kumbh. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this accident. May God give them the strength to bear this sorrow. The administration is providing treatment to the injured in hospitals. I am in continuous contact with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the local administration.”

 This morning, news of a stampede emerged from the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Several devotees were reported injured, and many are feared dead. Prime Minister Modi also expressed his sorrow over the incident and has been in constant contact with Chief Minister Yogi.

What did PM Modi say about the incident?

PM Modi said, “The incident at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh is extremely tragic. My deep condolences to the devotees who have lost their loved ones in this accident. I also wish for the swift recovery of all the injured. The local administration is doing everything possible to assist the victims. I have spoken to Chief Minister Yogi Ji on this matter and remain in continuous contact with the state government.”

The Prime Minister also said, “The tragic incident at the Kumbh has resulted in the loss of several blessed souls. I express my condolences. I am in constant contact with the UP government. Due to the large crowd on Mauni Amavasya, there was a temporary halt in bathing, but it is now running smoothly.”

Before addressing an election rally, the PM said, “In the tragic incident at the Maha Kumbh, we have lost some people, and many others have been injured. I express my condolences to the affected families and wish for the quick recovery of the injured. I am in continuous contact with the Uttar Pradesh government. Millions of devotees have arrived there today, and although there was a temporary disruption in the bathing process, people have been bathing smoothly for several hours now.”
