New Delhi: Relief from monsoon rains has arrived in various parts of the country, and normal life is beginning to return to track. However, continuous rainfall two days ago caused significant damage to crops in several areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand, leaving farmers disheartened, even though the rain has now subsided in many regions.
Heavy rains in hilly areas have triggered landslides, disrupting traffic on several routes. A drop in temperature is being recorded in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Kashmir due to ongoing rainfall. Roads remain blocked in many places due to soil subsidence. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several states, with wind speeds likely to range between 50 and 75 kmph.
Heavy Rain Expected in Delhi
According to the IMD, the capital, Delhi, is likely to see partly cloudy skies today. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C, while the minimum is likely to settle at 22°C. Meanwhile, the skies are expected to remain mainly clear on September 30 and October 1, though strong winds are likely in some areas.
Heavy Rain Forecast for UP
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in UP’s Shamli, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, and Moradabad districts. Additionally, heavy rain is expected in Bijnor, Rampur, Amroha, Sambhal, Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, and Kasganj. The IMD also anticipates spells of heavy rain in Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Bareilly, Badaun, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Azamgarh.
Rain is expected today, September 29, in Deoria, Kushinagar, and Mau, as well as across eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. According to the IMD, there is a likelihood of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes. Additionally, the spell of rain is expected to continue in eastern Uttar Pradesh until September 30.

According to the Meteorological Department, Bihar is likely to experience thunderstorms and scattered rainfall. There is also a possibility of lightning strikes in several areas. This rainy spell in Bihar is expected to persist until October 1.
Heavy Rain Expected in Uttarakhand
The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in several parts of Uttarakhand from September 29 to October 4. Alerts regarding thunderstorms and lightning strikes have also been issued for the region. Weather activity is expected to continue in the state until the beginning of October.
Rain Likely in Jharkhand
According to the IMD, a rain alert has been issued for Jharkhand for September 29. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning strikes are anticipated. The Meteorological Department expects this spell of rain in Jharkhand to continue until October 4.
