Weather Alert

New Delhi: Heavy rain has been lashing several parts of North India since morning, bringing relief from the scorching heat as temperatures have dropped. Clouds have hovered over the capital, Delhi, and surrounding areas since early morning, resulting in intermittent drizzles in various places. Thunderstorms accompanied by rain in parts of Western Uttar Pradesh have provided respite from the humid, sultry weather.

There appears to be little chance of relief from the rain in the northeastern states, where precipitation is currently ongoing. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several states across the country. You can check the detailed weather forecast below to clear up any confusion.

Heavy Rainfall Warnings for These States

According to the IMD, heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for various parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department has also warned of heavy rain in several areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Alerts for heavy rainfall have been issued for Meghalaya, Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Puducherry, and Nagaland as well. The IMD predicts a spell of heavy rain in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh between August 10 and August 13.

Weather Outlook for Delhi-NCR

According to the IMD, the capital, Delhi, and the adjoining NCR region are expected to remain cloudy today. The forecast indicates a maximum temperature of around 34°C and a minimum temperature of approximately 25°C.

Heavy Rain Expected in UP

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 10. Thunderstorms are also likely to occur in Western Uttar Pradesh on the same day. However, there is no likelihood of rain in the capital, Lucknow, today; the maximum temperature is expected to reach 33°C, while the minimum is likely to hover around 28°C.

Heavy Rain Expected in Bihar

According to the IMD, a heavy rain alert has been issued for Bihar from August 13 to 15. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is forecast for the capital, Patna. Temperatures in Patna are expected to range from a maximum of 32°C to a minimum of 28°C.

Weather Outlook for Rajasthan

The Meteorological Department has forecast storms and lightning strikes in western Rajasthan on August 10. Heavy rainfall is also predicted for eastern Rajasthan between August 10 and 13.

Alert for heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh
