Recently, Chief Minister of Delhi Rekha Gupta announced several ambitious plans for the capital while discussing a CAG reports on vehicle-related air pollution in the assembly. she also said her government is committed towards the working delhi to make it pollution free capital. government is also working to make delhi more greener. The CM stated that by the year of 2026, around 11,000 buses will run on the delhi’s roads, which will strengthen public transport and help reduce the air pollution. In her speech she added that currentl;y, around 6,484 buses are in operation, but the city needs 11,000 to meet its public transport demands.

CM Emphasized that the past three plantation drives remained on paper, but now they will be executed and government will involve schools and citizens to make them more successful. an integrated command and control centers will be established to monitor the quality of the air. also the stricter actions will be taken for the old vehicles.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta made the announcement about the water sprinklers too, where she added that 1,000 water sprinklers machines will be deployed throughout the year to control air pollution. she criticized the previous government for limiting this measure to winter, stating that pollution is a year round problem. additionally six new air quality monitoring station and 500 traffic cameras will also be installed in delhi. these cameras will be installed in delhi to track vehicles that are causing the air pollution. She announced that a new policy for the vehicles will be introduced, where it will be a mandatory thing to have a certificate for these vehicles. Making certificate of pollution will be mandatory for each and everyone. to manage the e-waste the government will set up an eco-park and 7 million new trees will be planted to expland the green cover in delhi.
