New Delhi: Demands for the resignation of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar continue. Political parties, social organisations, and student unions have taken to the streets to protest and call for his resignation. The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) has also launched a campaign against the Election Commissioner; some CJP leaders have even been taken into custody during these protests.
CJP founder Abhijit Deepke, along with Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das, were among those detained. Meanwhile, CJP leader Ashutosh Ranka has raised questions regarding Meta, alleging that the platform has restricted thousands of videos. Ranka also launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a social media post.

Questions raised by Ashutosh Ranka
Ashutosh Ranka, a leader of the Cockroach Janata Party, has raised serious questions about Meta. In a post shared on the social media platform ‘X’ on Monday night, he stated that thousands of Instagram accounts are being restricted and that countless videos have been removed. He remarked that the only thing left for Meta to do now is for Mark Zuckerberg to take a ‘selfie video’ with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CJP demands Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation
The Cockroach Janata Party previously spearheaded a major protest in Delhi against the NEET examination paper leak—a movement that concluded following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Now, they are demanding the resignation of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The opposition has also taken to the streets to protest against the central government.
The Congress party has organised a protest at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1st, with a large turnout expected. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has stated that the protests would cease if Gyanesh Kumar were to resign.

Action taken against CJP leaders
CJP leaders were taken into custody due to their participation in protests against Gyanesh Kumar. Action was taken against Abhijit Dipke, Sourav Das, and Abhijit Dipke due to indiscipline. All three leaders were released after signing a peace bond. Abhijit Dipke has appealed to all his supporters to refrain from any protests until Diwali. He remarked that all the “cockroaches” should celebrate the festival with their families.
All eyes on Congress’s mega-rally
It should be noted that the Congress party is set to hold a major mega-rally in Delhi on November 1, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who is embroiled in allegations of irregularities. The rally is scheduled to take place at Ramlila Maidan, and all eyes are fixed upon it. The Congress has already thrown all its might into making this a historic rally.
