New Delhi: The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) is arriving in the capital, Delhi, on October 10 to stage a protest. Anticipating the arrival of a large number of protesters, the Delhi Police has gone on high alert. The capital is on high alert amidst the ‘Delhi Chalo’ (March to Delhi) movement led by the CJP and the opposition. Due to the protest, 57 metro stations will remain closed tomorrow, Saturday. Borders will also be sealed starting at 9 PM on Friday.

The Delhi Police has already begun questioning suspicious individuals, and a close watch is being maintained across the city. Ahead of the protest, a decision has been taken to cancel 38 trains scheduled to arrive in Delhi and at the Hazrat Nizamuddin station. The Delhi Police has also intensified surveillance at the borders shared with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

Close watch is being kept on individuals with criminal backgrounds. The Delhi Police has appealed to the public to maintain peace and order. The police have also issued an open letter; the caption reads: An open letter to every citizen because above every uniform, every opinion, and every difference of view, we are all human beings first.

57 Metro Stations to Remain Completely Closed

Several major decisions regarding security arrangements have been taken in the capital ahead of the CJP protest. It has been announced that 57 metro stations will remain closed from 9 PM on Friday through Saturday. This step was taken at the request of the Delhi Police due to the apprehension of crowds gathering at sensitive locations.

The affected stations include Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Indraprastha, Kashmere Gate, Chandni Chowk, INA, Hauz Khas, Azadpur, Jamia Millia Islamia, Shaheen Bagh, Welcome, and Rohini West.

Liquor shops to remain closed for two days

The Delhi Excise Department has directed that liquor shops remain closed on the day of the CJP protest and the day prior to it. Retail liquor outlets in Delhi will be shut on October 9 and 10. This order has been issued as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order, based on the prevailing situation and information received from the Delhi Police.
