New Delhi: Jagdambika Pal, the BJP Member of Parliament (MP) from Dumariyaganj, has been honoured with the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award. He attributed this honour to the people of Basti, Siddharthnagar, and the entire Purvanchal region, as well as the party’s top leadership. He stated that this recognition is not the achievement of any single individual but the result of the trust placed in him by the lakhs of citizens who elected him as their representative in the Lok Sabha.
During the parliamentary sessions of 2022, he recorded 100% attendance in the House. Throughout this period, he earnestly raised issues of public interest during ‘Zero Hour.’ Furthermore, he introduced several Private Members’ Bills and actively participated in debates of national importance. Launching a scathing attack on the opposition, Jagdambika Pal also targeted the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and SP MP Akhilesh Yadav.

Targeting Rahul and Akhilesh
After receiving the Sansad Ratna award, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal appeared highly critical of the opposition. He remarked that while only three months remain until the UP elections, key opposition leaders are nowhere to be found on the ground. Rahul Gandhi is nowhere to be seen in UP, while Akhilesh Yadav has confined himself merely to social media and Twitter.
He further added that opposition parties are entangled in a battle for the ‘number two’ and ‘number three’ spots, and parties like the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and Congress are unable to break free from dynastic politics and personal agendas.
Highlighting Infrastructure Transformation in Purvanchal
Jagdambika Pal highlighted the infrastructural transformation taking place in Purvanchal. He noted that development projects worth approximately ₹400 to ₹500 crore are being rapidly executed in Basti and Siddharthnagar. Construction work on the new Khalilabad-Dheliyaganj-Bansi railway line is progressing swiftly.
Thirteen new expressways, including the Gorakhpur-Shamli eight-lane expressway, are transforming the face of the region. Furthermore, steps have been taken to ensure the development of the entire region through the establishment of state-of-the-art medical colleges in every district and international airports in Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. Schemes such as the Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, electricity connections, and Ayushman Bharat have directly benefited poor families.

Targeting the Opposition over Women’s Reservation
He launched a scathing attack on opposition parties regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. He stated that the bill, which grants 33 per cent reservation to half the country’s population, represents a historic decision. Parties opposing it in Parliament are directly opposing the empowerment of women. He further asserted that the opposition lacks both policy and intent, leading them to engage merely in self-trolling.
