Apple is set to open 4 more new physical Apple Stores in India. In 2022, the company opened two Apple Stores, Apple BKC and Apple Saket, in the major cities of Mumbai and Delhi. Now, the company plans to open more stores in other cities. This has been confirmed by Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook. Last year, iPhone sales saw a huge boost in India. In 2024, Apple held the largest share of value in smartphone sales.

New Apple Stores in These Cities

India has now joined the list of countries like the US, China, UK, France, Australia, and Japan for iPhone sales. Apple’s iPhones have been among the top-selling smartphones in all these markets. To expand its network in India, the company plans to open four new Apple Stores in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. By the end of the year, the number of Apple Stores in India will increase from two to six. After Delhi and Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru will also get their own Apple Stores.

Apple’s Dominance in Value Share

According to Counterpoint data, Apple led the value share in 2024 with a 23% share. South Korean company Samsung came in second with 22%. Chinese companies follow after that. However, in terms of volume, Vivo maintained its dominance, with a market share of 19% in India. Apple ranks after Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Realme in volume.

Big Announcement on AI

Tim Cook made an important announcement about Apple Intelligence, revealing that iPhone users in India will get Apple’s AI feature in Indian languages by April this year. Currently, Apple Intelligence is available in several languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. In India and Singapore, it can be used in local English languages.
