He said the ever since the incident, his daughter, family, colleagues and friends have been receiving the death threats and rape threats. in a story shared on instagram, anurag kashyap wrote a note saying, this is my apology. not for the entire post, but for that one line which was taken out of context and is spreading the hate. no action or statement is serious enough to justify rape and death threats to your daughter. family, friends and colleagues from so-called protectors of the culture and values.

According to the recent reports, the controversy began on april 17 after a post by anurag kashyap, in which he criticized the opposition against his upcoming film phule. the film is based on the lives of social reformers jyotirao and savitribai phule. anurag kashyap questioned why film that address caste-related issues often faces the bans in india.
