According to the recent reports, the central government has decided to extend the president’s rule in the Northeastern state of Manipur for another 6 months. Union home minister amit shah will also present a proposal about this in the rajya sabha on Friday. Amit shah will the approval from the parliament to extend the current from parliament to extend the current period of president’s rule in Manipur. A notice released by the Rajya Sabha mentions that union home minister and minister of cooperation, amit shah has submitted a resolution to the house. The notice further states that this resolution has been accepted for the discussion. It means that amit shah will officially present the resolution in the Rajya Sabha, and members will have the opportunity to discuss and vote on it. This is part of the formal process followed in parliament for approving such proposals. This house approves the constitution of the proclamation issued by the president on 13th February 2025 under article 356 of the constitution, in relation to the state of Manipur. The approval is for extending the president’s rule in Manipur for an additional period of six months, starting from 13th august 2025. This resolution is brought before the house to seek formal consent for continuing the constitutional arrangement in the state for stability and governance. This house approves the extension of the proclamation issued by the president on 13th February 2025 under the article 356 of the constitution, regarding the state of Manipur. The extension will be for an additional six months that will be starting from 13 august 2025, to ensure continued governance and stability in the state.
