New Delhi: Political parties have begun preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. With less than three months remaining before the election process officially begins, the BJP, SP, BSP, and Congress appear to be strengthening their organisational structures. On Thursday, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav visited former cabinet minister Azam Khan at Rampur Jail.

This meeting is being interpreted in various political ways. Opposition parties have even suggested that Akhilesh’s visit to Rampur was driven by political necessity. Meanwhile, AIMIM leader from Maharashtra, Waris Pathan, has launched an attack on the SP chief, accusing him of playing politics over Muslim voters.

Waris Pathan made a significant statement.

Waris Pathan questioned the SP chief’s decision to meet Azam Khan. He remarked that while the AIMIM had been advocating for Azam Khan for some time, it took this long for Akhilesh Yadav to remember him. He further asked where the SP chief had been all this time, questioning why it took so long for him to visit the incarcerated Azam Khan. He alleged that Akhilesh Yadav’s visit was motivated by a desire to secure Muslim votes, adding that the Muslim community is discerning and should not be underestimated.

SP has failed to be the voice of Muslim.s

AIMIM leader Waris Pathan stated that his party is working toward the empowerment and political representation of the Muslim community in Uttar Pradesh. He pointed out that despite the SP having numerous MLAs and MPs, issues concerning the Muslim community are not adequately raised in the state. He emphasised that his party aims to send representatives to the Legislative Assembly who will fight for justice and rights.

Furthermore, regarding election preparations in UP, Waris Pathan noted that large crowds are gathering at meetings organised by the AIMIM. He highlighted that party chief Asaduddin Owaisi is receiving overwhelming public support and expressed confidence that the party will achieve success in the UP elections.

Waris Pathan expresses concern over the Tiger Shroff incident.

Waris Pathan has expressed his concern regarding the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. The AIMIM leader has urged the Mumbai Police to take strict action in the matter. He stated that if the Mumbai Police acts firmly, such activities can be curbed. Referring to the 1980s and 1990s, Pathan noted that while similar incidents occurred back then as well, the police used to take stringent action. Questions are now being raised regarding the current functioning of the Mumbai Police.
