Trump: no trade talks with India until tariff dispute is resolved

Trump said that until this problem is rectified, negotiations will not start after his administration just hiked duties on Indian imports to 50%.

Shortly after Donald Trump placed 25% more taxes on India for purchasing Russian oil, bringing the total charges to 50%, a video of his comments swiftly went viral on social media.
Now that Trump’s deadline for reciprocal tariffs has passed, half of these duties are in effect.

The White House announced an Executive Order on Wednesday that will raise the overall tax to 50% by applying an extra 25 percentage points in tariffs on Indian imports.
