Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026 : The Delhi government has launched the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, a new initiative for girls in Delhi, to ensure their educational and economic future. This revolutionary scheme for girls, effective April 1, 2026, will replace the existing Ladli Yojana. The scheme was inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu on March 2, 2026, and became effective April 1, 2026. The scheme aims to prevent female foeticide and encourage girls to pursue higher education.
This initiative will remove financial barriers to girls and instill confidence in them, ensuring they are not forced to drop out of school and can lead a life of self-respect by ensuring their education.
Objective of the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026
The objective of this scheme is to maintain the educational continuity of daughters so that they are not forced to drop out of school but instead complete their schooling and obtain graduate and professional diplomas. Therefore, girls are also provided with a sum of over 1 lakh rupees upon reaching adulthood. This scheme will now end child marriage and prevent female foeticide.
Objective of Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026
this scheme is being run for the girls of Delhi, in this scheme, the girls who live in Delhi will be given assistance amount of Rs. 61,000 in installments and when the girl turns 21, then an amount of Rs. 1.20 lakh will be given for the higher education of the girl child, which will be directly transferred to the Aadhar linked bank account of the beneficiary, through this scheme the government provides financial assistance to the girl child for completing her education from birth till graduation.

In Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026, financial assistance is given from the birth of the girl child till higher education so that the daughter’s family can also get financial assistance, in which an amount of Rs. 11000 is given as the first installment at the time of birth of the daughter, after this, for school education, ₹5000 is paid per stage on admission in class 1, 6, 9, 11 and 12, after this, for higher education, financial amount of ₹10,000 is given for one year diploma and ₹20,000 for professional diploma and up to ₹25,000 is given for graduation.
Eligibility Criteria for the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026
The Delhi government has established certain eligibility criteria for the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana 2026-
- Only girls born in Delhi and whose families have resided in Delhi for the past three years will be eligible to apply.
- A maximum of two daughters per family will be eligible for this scheme.
- To benefit from this scheme, the family’s annual income must not exceed ₹1.20 lakh.
- Benefits will be available only if the girl continues her education in a government-run, corporation-run, or recognized private school in Delhi.
- Vaccination is mandatory for the girl to be considered eligible for this scheme.
- Under this scheme, a girl must be married only after she turns 18.
- If she is married before this date, the government will withdraw the amount deposited by the girl.
