Google Update
Google Discover is moving beyond traditional news articles with a major update designed to make the feed more engaging and personalized. Soon, users will see a wider variety of content—including short-form videos and social media posts—alongside standard web stories.
More Than Just Articles
Until now, Discover primarily highlighted articles and website updates. Over the coming weeks, however, the service will begin surfacing YouTube Shorts, Instagram posts, and trending content from X (formerly Twitter). This means viral clips, eye-catching images, and popular tweets will all appear in one convenient feed.

Follow Your Favorite Creators
A new “Follow” button will let users subscribe directly to publishers and creators. Before following, you’ll be able to preview their recent posts and videos. Once you opt in, Discover will prioritize their updates, offering a customized stream of content tailored to your interests.
Benefits for Creators and Users
Google says the changes aren’t just about enhancing the user experience. By allowing people to follow creators directly, publishers gain a more direct connection to their audience, and users can find their preferred material faster.

With these upgrades, Google Discover is evolving into a one-stop hub for news, social media highlights, and short-form video—whether you’re after in-depth reporting, trending memes, or the latest YouTube clips.
