Pro Kabaddi League Season 12
Today marks the resumption of the 12th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), the second-largest franchise league in India. The timing is significant because Major Dhyan Chand, the hockey great, was born on August 29, which is National Sports Day.
There were just eight clubs in the PKL when it started in 2014. Twelve franchises are now playing in the competition, which has become a fan favorite in just ten years. The rivalry is also intense; only two teams have won the trophy more than once, and eight different winners have emerged over the course of 11 seasons.

As the league makes its eagerly anticipated return to Vizag, each game will be more significant and the season will be more intense. It’s really thrilling to begin this edition on such an auspicious date,” the league said in a release. “We also commemorate our National Sports Day tomorrow with the league honoring renowned sportsmen.”

As players, we know that every match will test us, and that is what is going to make this season of the Pro Kabaddi League the most entertaining one yet — no game will be easy, and every win will have to be won,” said Vijay Malik, skipper of the Telugu Titans.
On a lighter note, creators, split into two teams—the Mat Mavericks and the Raid Masters—joined the 12 PKL captains on the mat for enjoyable games and challenges. Before the season begins on August 29, the friendly face-off gave excitement and entertainment to the day’s conclusion.
