Lord Swraj Paul, a well-known NRI philanthropist and businessman, died Thursday night in London at the age of 94.
Following a recent hospital stay, Lord Paul, the founder of the Caparo Group of Industries in the United Kingdom, passed away in the company of his loved ones.

He was born in Jalandhar, relocated to the UK in 1966 to receive treatment for his daughter Ambika, who subsequently passed away from leukemia. He then founded the Caparo Group, which grew into a multinational corporation with holdings in real estate, engineering, and steel.

In his daughter’s honor, he founded the Ambika Paul Foundation. He made contributions to health, education, and other programs for children and youth through the foundation. Additionally, he had contributed to the establishment of his Chang village school.
