Indian Olympic Association to Host 2030 Commonwealth Games Bid
Recently, a group of Commonwealth Sport representatives, headed by Darren Hall, Director of Games, traveled to Ahmedabad to tour the venues and speak with representatives of the Gujarat government.
At its Special General Meeting (SGM) in New Delhi on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) formally accepted the nation’s application to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030.

With Ahmedabad serving as the host city, India has already submitted an Expression of Interest for the 2030 CWG. However, before the deadline of August 31, the country must submit the suggestions for the final bid.
India has officially entered the competition to host the Commonwealth Games in 2030 after receiving official clearance from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) at a Special General Meeting. Ahmedabad is suggested as the host city, and the government will cover all event-related expenses. The country’s aspirations to host the renowned multi-sport event will advance significantly with the submission of the final bid materials by August 31, according to PTI.
