The Philadelphia Emergency Management Office confirmed the incident on social media, stating that a major accident had occurred in the suspected crash area. However, no further details have been provided.
On the social media site X, the emergency office wrote: “A major incident has occurred near Cottman and Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia, in front of Roosevelt Mall. Roads, including parts of Roosevelt Boulevard, are closed. Avoid the area.”

A video of the incident is being widely shared on social media. The footage shows that the plane crashed after hitting several houses. Following the crash, fire brigade teams quickly reached the spot and started efforts to control the fire.
According to an Associated Press (AP) report, flight data revealed that a small jet took off from the airport at 6:06 PM. About 30 seconds after reaching an altitude of 1,600 feet, the plane disappeared from the radar. The crash site is about 4.8 kilometers from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, which mainly serves business jets and charter flights.

Speaking to AP, a local resident said he heard a loud explosion, and his house shook. He initially thought it was an attack.
It is worth noting that earlier in Washington, D.C., a plane had collided with a military helicopter, killing all 64 people on board the plane and three people in the helicopter. This is one of the most devastating aviation accidents in the USA in over two decades.
