New Delhi: Rising pollution levels in the national capital, Delhi, and its surrounding areas have once again cast a shadow over public health, making it increasingly difficult for people to step outside in the toxic air. Following Diwali, a thick haze is expected to settle over the region, further exacerbating pollution levels. Meanwhile, in the hilly states, the arrival of snow has caused temperatures to drop significantly.

A shift in weather patterns is also expected to lead to a decline in temperatures across the northeastern states, while unstable weather conditions are anticipated in the southern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall in several states. Read on for a detailed breakdown of the expected weather conditions.

Rainfall expected in several regions

The IMD has forecast rain in various locations across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal between November 6 and 10. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Kerala and Mahe from November 6 to 8. Additionally, rain is also expected in the northeastern states and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Conversely, no major weather shifts are currently expected in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, or other parts of western and central India. In the hilly states, a change in weather is likely starting November 8.

Where will it rain in South India?

The IMD has predicted rain across several states in South India on November 7. Rainfall is expected in many parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe, with heavy rain likely in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Heavy rainfall may also occur in isolated areas of Kerala. Light to moderate rain is expected in coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema. Some areas in Telangana may also experience rainfall.

Dry weather expected in Delhi

The weather in the national capital, Delhi, is expected to remain dry today. No specific alert for rain or thunderstorms has been issued for Delhi for November 7. Furthermore, there is no significant likelihood of rain in the capital until November 12. Consequently, residents of Delhi can expect a respite from rain for the time being.

Quick update on the weather in UP

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather in Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain normal. The IMD has not issued any specific warnings for heavy rain or thunderstorms in the state for November 7. Much like in western and central India, no major weather shifts are anticipated in UP over the next few days.

Weather in Bihar

The IMD has not issued any specific alert regarding rain in Bihar for today. According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall may occur in several parts of the state on November 10. At present, there is no indication of heavy rainfall in the state on November 7.
