Now a big good news is coming for the people who travel on the National Highways across the country. All the drivers will get a big exemption on toll from 1st November. If you also travel near the toll plaza daily or frequently and you have to go through the toll, and you have to pay toll tax again and again, then now you will get relief from this. According to the information, let us tell you that the Central Government has started a new facility of FASTag Concessional Local Pass for the local drivers. This new system is going to be implemented from 1st November 2026, after which people travelling near the toll will get a big relief from this.

This is a scheme under which eligible vehicle owners will be able to pay a fixed annual fee and repeatedly pass through their nearest toll plaza, at a reduced cost. The annual pass price ranges from ₹1,500 to ₹3,000. This service will eliminate the need for local residents to pay tolls repeatedly, eliminating the need for monthly toll deductions and providing year-round relief.

New FASTag Rules to be Implemented from November 1st

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued an order to implement the new rules effective November 1st. According to the information, starting November 1st, 2026, eligible private vehicle owners living within a 20-kilometer radius will receive a discount on annual local passes. This means that those who have an annual toll pass and travel to the area near the toll will receive a discount. This facility will be available to those who have a toll plaza near their homes and frequently visit the toll plaza.

The main objective of this new system is to provide relief to those who had to pay toll fees frequently.

How much will the FASTag Local Pass fee be?

The government has established two categories of annual toll fees based on the location of the toll plaza.

₹1,500 per year: This fee is applicable for toll plazas located outside the municipal or local area limits.

₹3,000 per year: This pass is applicable for toll plazas located within the municipal or local area limits.

Which drivers will benefit?

Let’s find out who will benefit from this new scheme.

  1. Vehicle owners whose homes are within a 20-kilometer radius of the toll plaza will be exempted from the annual pass.
  2. The vehicle must be private and non-commercial.
  3. A valid and working FASTag must be installed on the vehicle to obtain the annual pass.

Under this scheme, you can get an annual pass for your personal vehicles like car, jeep and van and avail this service.
