PM KISAN

New Delhi: Farmers are now eagerly awaiting the 24th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Every farmer is asking the same question: when will they receive the next instalment? It is expected that the government may transfer the Rs 2,000 instalment under this scheme before Diwali. More than 90 million (9 crore) farmers are set to benefit from this instalment, which is expected to be disbursed sometime during the last week of October.

This is likely to bring a welcome boost to the farmers. However, an official date for the disbursement has not yet been announced. Media reports suggest this, but farmers should ensure that certain necessary tasks are completed; otherwise, the instalment payment could get stuck.

How many farmers in UP will receive the instalment?

There is great anticipation for the Rs 2,000 instalment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Farmer families receive an annual financial assistance of Rs 6,000, provided in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each. These funds are transferred directly to beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This time, it is highly expected that over 22 million (2.2 crore) farmers in Uttar Pradesh will receive the benefit just before Diwali.

Why might an instalment get stuck?

The Ministry of Agriculture and state governments are taking strict measures to prevent ineligible individuals from claiming benefits under the PM Kisan Yojana. The government’s objective is to ensure that the scheme’s benefits reach only the eligible farmers. To this end, completing eKYC has been made mandatory.

Consequently, farmers who have not yet completed their biometric or OTP-based eKYC may find their instalments withheld. Furthermore, to avail the benefits of the scheme, it is essential to have your bank account linked with your Aadhaar and to ensure that the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) facility is active. It is also mandatory to complete the land verification process, which involves uploading your land record document (khatouni) onto the portal.

How to check your status

If you wish to verify the status of your next instalment, you need to be aware of the relevant requirements. Farmers can easily check their status by visiting the official portal. To do so, please follow the process outlined below.

What to do if you face issues with e-KYC

To address this, first visit the ‘e-KYC’ option on the pmkisan.gov.in portal.

Next, enter your Aadhaar number and complete the process using the OTP sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.

If your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhaar, you will need to visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) to complete the e-KYC process using biometrics, specifically by providing your thumbprint.
