New Delhi: Abhijit Dipke, founder of the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP), has been granted conditional bail and subsequently released. He was required to sign a bond to secure his release. Following his release, CJP leader Abhijit Dipke shared his reaction in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He shared a photograph of Shah Rukh Khan and asked, “How does it feel to be out of jail after 24 hours without Wi-Fi or a phone?” Through this post, Dipke also shared his experience of being in jail.

Conditional Bail for Dipke

After his release, Abhijit Dipke arrived at the residence of Anish Gawande, a spokesperson for the party. The court granted him bail subject to certain conditions. CJP founder Abhijit Dipke was granted conditional bail on Saturday; as part of the terms, he was required to sign a bond committing to maintain peace upon his release. Meanwhile, Ajinkya Shinde, the party’s national organisational in-charge, stated that Abhijit Dipke himself would announce the next course of action.

Taken into Custody from Jhandewalan

Dipke was taken into custody on Friday as he stepped out of his residence in Jhandewalan, Delhi, to participate in the CJP’s ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ (Hoist the Tricolour) demonstration in Connaught Place. He was arrested on charges of violating a ‘peace bond’ that he had signed on October 10. A senior police official stated that he was released based on the assurances provided within that peace bond.

We are awaiting the written order for further details. Following the announcement of Dipke’s ‘Tiranga’ (Tricolour) rally, left-wing activist Nehar Bora had arrived at House Mandi, where she was also taken into custody by the police. Nehar Bora was released by the Delhi Police late that night, while Dipke was released on Saturday evening.

Protesters hold a march.

On Friday at 5:25 PM, a group of protesters held a march. The group, consisting of 100 people carrying the tricolour (Indian national flag), began marching from Gate No. 1 of Palika Market toward the inner circle of Connaught Place. Meanwhile, around 100 to 120 members of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) gathered on Tolstoy Marg, near Jantar Mantar.

Activists associated with AISA (All India Students’ Association) also joined the protest. However, AISA leader Neha Bora was taken into custody near Mandi House at approximately 5:15 PM. During the demonstrations, slogans such as “Down with Delhi Police,” “Dictatorship will not be tolerated,” and “Gyanesh Kumar, resign” were heard at various locations.
