A major decision has been made to add those who were left out of the voter list during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. There’s good news for those whose names remain on the list. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will now go door-to-door to verify their names, and your name will be added to the list. To ensure this campaign is effective, the Election Commission has also assigned targets to officials. The objective is to ensure that eligible voters are not deprived of their right to vote under any circumstances, and that no one’s name is left off the list.

During the SIR, a large number of voters are checked during the voter list verification and update process. During this process, voters may be identified whose names were not included in the list for some reason, or whose information, such as their mother’s name, father’s name, or address, is incorrect. Through this process, BLOs will contact voters, gather the necessary documents and information, and correct everything to ensure they are not excluded from voting.

BLOs will go door-to-door

According to reports, a door-to-door verification campaign is being launched, specifically for families where the name of an eligible member is missing from the voter list, or for new voters, young people who have reached the voting age, or for those who have moved, or for those whose parents or addresses have been misplaced, and for those citizens whose names or addresses have errors, this campaign will be initiated.

BLOs will be given targets

Complete preparations have been made to strengthen the electoral system at the grassroots level. Each BLO will be assigned targets based on their area. The BLOs will meet these targets and report back to the officials.

During the campaign, BLOs will also provide information to voters about the application process. Furthermore, they will also advise voters on the steps to take for those whose names are missing from the list or are incorrect for some reason.

Missing Voters Will Be Monitored

The biggest challenge in the SIR process is identifying those whose names have been left out. Identifying eligible voters who, for whatever reason, were unable to appear during verification will be the primary focus of the BLOs. To achieve this, local-level monitoring will be increased, and BLOs may be instructed to monitor the situation in their respective booth areas and reach out to eligible voters who have been left out. Targets are also being set for them.

After the completion of this campaign, the participation of eligible citizens in the voter list is expected to be even greater, and everyone will be connected to the voter list. The Commission will also regularly monitor the targets set to determine how many eligible voters the BLOs have reached and how many cases have been addressed.
