Full recipe for making banana bhujia
To make this, first, you need to take raw bananas, peel them, and wash them thoroughly. Next, cut the banana lengthwise into two halves and then into thin or medium-sized pieces. Be careful not to make the pieces too thin, or they may break during cooking.
Now, take a pan, place it on the stove, and add oil. As soon as the oil is hot, add cumin seeds. Once the cumin seeds begin to crackle, add asafoetida, finely chopped green chilies, and ginger and fry for a few seconds. Once they’re fried, add the chopped bananas to the pan. Gently mix them with the spices. Add all the basic spices, such as turmeric, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste. Mix all the spices thoroughly with the bananas and let them cook over low heat.
Then, cover the pan and cook for a few minutes over low to medium heat. Stir the pan occasionally. Keep checking the oil. If needed, sprinkle a little water. Don’t overdo it.
When the bananas begin to soften, your curry is ready and the spices have a nice touch of color. Remove the lid. Now, increase the heat and fry for a few minutes, so that the bhujia becomes slightly crispy. Finally, add cumin powder and mango powder, mixing well. After turning off the heat, sprinkle fresh coriander leaves on top. Your spicy, spicy banana bhujia is ready.
