Drone Attack

New Delhi: The situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate. There appears to be little hope for an immediate end to the conflict between the US and Iran. Yemen’s Houthi rebels have now caused chaos by launching a major attack on Saudi Arabia. The attack, carried out using drones, targeted Sharurah in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the Houthis claimed to have targeted a military base in a significant strike. They described the action as a response to Saudi Arabia’s ongoing aggression against Yemen. The situation remains extremely volatile due to the continuing conflict between the US and Iran in the region.

Details provided by Houthi military spokesperson

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree released a statement on Telegram providing details of the operation. He stated that the Houthis targeted the military base’s weapons depot and command-and-control room. According to Saree, a large number of ballistic missiles and drones were used in the attack.

The spokesperson claimed that all targets were hit precisely. Furthermore, he described the attack as a response to Saudi Arabia’s persistent aggression against Yemen. He also warned that if the attacks do not cease, even deadlier strikes would be launched against targets deeper within Saudi territory in the coming days.

Reports of two injuries

There are reports that two people were injured in Saudi Arabia following the Houthi attack. Saudi Civil Defence has also confirmed damage resulting from the strike. According to Saudi Civil Defence officials, two people were injured when a projectile fired from Yemen landed in Jizan. The attack also caused extensive damage to a local mosque, several residential buildings, and vehicles.

Houthis also seized control of Mocha Port.

It is worth noting that the Houthis had previously seized control of Mayun Island, located in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait,t the gateway to the Red Sea. Furthermore, in response to the capture of the port city of Mokha, Saudi Arabia launched fierce attacks on Mokha Airport. Meanwhile, the Houthis stated that by seizing this area through which oil and gas tankers pass in the Red Sea, ea they and Iran aimed to pressure the United States by driving up global energy prices.

Conflict Continues Between the US and Iran

Are you aware that no agreement on any peace proposal has been reached between the US and Iran so far? Consequently, a cycle of attacks from both sides persists, keeping the situation dire. The US is launching attacks in response to Iran’s interference in the Strait of Hormuz, while Iran is targeting US airbases in the Middle East.
