He also emphasized that the government takes action within the legal framework and that it is everyone’s responsibility to respect the judiciary’s decision. Therefore, this issue should not be viewed from a political perspective.
The mosque located in the Saharanpur Collectorate complex has been a subject of ongoing controversy for quite some time. Different parties have made differing claims regarding the ownership of the land and the legality of the construction. The matter gradually reached the court, and after reaching the court, it was heard in the courts. During this legal process, differing orders were issued, which has sparked political debate and raised questions about the administration’s actions.
Meanwhile, Brijesh Pathak presented the government’s position on the matter, stating that no individual or organization can be considered above the court’s decision. The court’s decision is supreme. He added that no matter the case, when a court order is present, it is the administration’s responsibility to comply. And that has been followed. He also conveyed that in sensitive matters, unnecessary rhetoric should not be used, nor should anyone provoke others by disrupting the atmosphere. Instead, peace and law and order should be maintained, and the court’s decision should be accepted.
An important aspect of the case is that legal claims and documents regarding the disputed property have been presented to the courts. The final outcome will only be clear from the court’s subsequent proceedings. It is important to await the outcome of the legal process rather than accepting any party’s claims as final.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s statement is being viewed in this context. He did not directly support or oppose any side, he said in general that whatever the dispute is, we have to follow the court and give top priority to its views. He said that the rule of law is supreme in Uttar Pradesh and the government will proceed as per the orders of the court. This case of Saharanpur is also important because disputes related to religious places are very sensitive. In such cases, the administration also faces a challenge in maintaining peace and order. Even a small incident can take the form of a big dispute. Therefore, political parties and social organizations have been appealed to maintain restraint.
