New Delhi: Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in India to participate in the BRICS summit being held in the capital, where he received a grand welcome. His aircraft landed at Delhi’s Palam Airport, and he was received by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh. Meanwhile, a significant statement regarding his visit has also been issued by China.
This statement concerns the relationship between Xi Jinping and India. China stated that both nations should move towards progress like good neighbours and friends while properly managing their differences. Emphasis was also placed on enhancing dialogue. This statement, coming just before the meeting between PM Narendra Modi and Xi Jinping, has drawn considerable attention.

Ahead of the bilateral meeting scheduled between Xi Jinping and Narendra Modi in New Delhi, Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong made a significant statement. He remarked that China wishes to advance its relationship with India from a long-term perspective, noting the need to increase dialogue and strengthen cooperation.
China also spoke of both nations moving forward as good neighbours and partners who support each other’s success. The emphasis remained on enhancing dialogue and strengthening cooperation to achieve this.

In a social media post, Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong spoke of moving forward by setting aside differences. He stated that China would work with India in alignment with the strategic vision of both leaders. He emphasised the need for both countries to increase mutual dialogue.

Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning has also conveyed a significant message to India. She stated that China is ready to enhance dialogue with India. Both nations need to view their relationship through a strategic and long-term lens. Mao Ning also emphasised the importance of properly managing differences. She described India and China as good neighbours and partners who support each other’s success.

It is worth noting that Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Delhi after seven years. He came to India to participate in the 18th BRICS Summit. During this visit, he also held bilateral talks with Narendra Modi. This marks Jinping’s visit to India after a gap of nearly seven years; he had previously visited in 2019 for an informal meeting with Modi in Mahabalipuram, near Chennai. This meeting is significant given the current context.
