According to the Meteorological Department, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for 24 states today, September 12. The IMD has issued alerts for heavy rain in parts of UP, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Additionally, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha.
The IMD has also issued alerts for torrential rain in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala. Warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and squalls have been issued for Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Sikkim. Strong winds reaching speeds of 80 to 85 km/h may also occur in these states during the rainfall.

Alerts for heavy rain and squalls have been issued for Katihar, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, and Begusarai, with wind speeds expected to reach 40 to 50 km/h.
