Now, CM Vijay has taken another significant step regarding the offerings made to devotees in Tamil Nadu temples. The state’s Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department has taken a major step regarding the offerings made and sold in temples. The government has now decided to develop a plan to regulate the quality, quantity, price, and packaging of offerings made and distributed in temples. The new system will ensure that the offerings are of the highest quality. Under this new system, specific standards for the main offerings made in different temples will be adhered to.
The objective of this plan is to ensure that devotees receive consistent and quality offerings at every temple, without compromising on quality. Recently, complaints have surfaced regarding the quality of offerings made in some temples. Following numerous questions about quality, the department has focused on streamlining the process of preparing and selling prasad. The government has taken this decision in light of this.
Now, the quality of prasad will be the best.
The government has called this a master scheme, and under this master scheme, 10 types of prasad will be checked. These will include popular prasads like laddus and panchamrit. The new system will strive to ensure a consistent and systematic approach to the entire prasad-making process, not just the name or ingredients. The recipe, ingredients, and complete details of each packet will be checked, ensuring transparency.
There will also be a formula for determining prices.
The government’s plan also addresses the pricing of prasad. The department will determine prices based on costs such as raw materials, LPG, labor, and packaging. The price will be set at a price that is not excessive, as this decision aims to avoid unnecessary differences in the prices of similar prasads across temples.
Prasad will be prepared in the temple itself.
According to the new system, it has also been revealed that the Prasad prepared will not be prepared by any outside agencies but will be prepared within the temple premises. The purpose of this is that if it is prepared outside, the quality may vary. However, if it is prepared within the temple premises, the temple administration will have direct control over the preparation, ingredients, and quality of the Prasad.
