The Uttar Pradesh government has given a significant gift to women and their convenience. To empower women in rural areas financially, the government has announced the launch of a new scheme. The government is preparing to promote milk production on a large scale and has quickly implemented this scheme for women on the ground. The government plans to expand this milk production initiative to all 75 districts of the state, so that more women can increase their income through animal husbandry and milk production and become independent. This scheme has been implemented with this in mind.
The primary objective of this initiative is to provide employment and empower rural women, enabling them to play a strong role in their families’ economic development. This scheme has been announced for this reason. According to government data, currently, a large number of women in approximately 7,220 villages across 42 districts of the state are participating in this milk production scheme. Approximately 3.94 lakh women in these villages are benefiting from the scheme. Of these, 72,669 women have achieved Lakhpati Didi status, significantly improving their economic status.
Milk production is considered a vital pillar of the rural economy. For small and marginal farmers, animal husbandry can be a source of additional income alongside farming. Keeping this in mind, the government is emphasizing the promotion of women in animal husbandry, milk production, and related businesses.
With the expansion of the scheme, it is expected that women in districts where this initiative has not yet reached a large scale will also benefit from it. Therefore, special attention is being paid to this. The government’s focus is not limited to providing animals but also on connecting women with production, management, and marketing. This aims to increase the income of rural families and strengthen women’s economic participation.
The government is empowering
Farmers and youth are also being included in the government’s comprehensive strategy. This is an effort to develop milk production from a mere domestic activity to a systematic rural business. The government is taking this step to introduce new technology in animal husbandry in a better way by increasing the participation of youth.
