New Delhi: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections, there is a buzz surrounding the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP), which represents the Gen-Z demographic. Political analysts suggest that the CJP might extend its support to the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the UP polls. Just a few days ago, a closed-door meeting took place between CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Amidst this speculation, opposition parties are also targeting the CJP. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati has issued a significant statement regarding the CJP’s Gen-Z movement. She remarked that the movement, which began by highlighting the issues faced by the youth and the unemployed, now appears to be falling under the influence of political parties. The BSP supremo added that this shift has raised serious concerns in the minds of the youth and students.
Mayawati’s Social Media Post
BSP supremo Mayawati took to the social media platform ‘X’ to criticise the CJP. In her post, she noted that there are numerous examples across the country leading people to believe that the CJP’s movement originally focused on Gen-Z and the grievances of the unemployed has been hijacked by various political parties. Consequently, the grand dreams sold to the youth and students during the Jantar Mantar protests have now become politicised rather than independent, giving rise to serious doubts.
Mayawati further stated that the BSP has always sympathised with and remained concerned about the legitimate demands of the youth. She has instructed all state units of the party to meet with relevant officials in their respective regions to facilitate the resolution of these issues.
She emphasised that the BSP has always held deep sympathy and concern for the essential demands of Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha. She directed all state units to extend their support and urged them to proactively meet with concerned officials in their respective areas to ensure a peaceful resolution to these problems.
Party workers should stay away from agitations – Mayawati.
The BSP supremo has instructed her party workers to refrain from participating in agitations. She emphasised the need to conserve the party’s energy for the elections. In accordance with BSP discipline, party members should not engage in sit-ins, protests, or agitations; instead, they should preserve their physical, mental, and financial resources and energy for the electoral battle.
The goal is to form a government based on the principle of ‘Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay’ (welfare and happiness for all) thereby realizing the dreams of the true messiah of millions of Dalits and other marginalized sections, the revered Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and to find permanent solutions to the hardships and grievances faced by all sections of society, including Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha; a feat that has already been demonstrated during the BSP’s four terms in power in Uttar Pradesh.
