New Delhi: Activists from the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) have once again taken to the streets. A major uproar is brewing in Delhi over the assault on Sanjay Kumar, the father of Nishu Azad. Protests have now begun outside the Sansad Marg Police Station regarding the incident, which occurred a few days ago during a CJP demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
A podcast clip going viral on social media has escalated the entire matter. In the clip, Swatantra Bhardwaj himself admitted to striking Sanjay Kumar on the head. Demands are being raised for the police to immediately register an FIR against Swatantra Bhardwaj and arrest him; the accused made this open admission in the viral video. CJP members have surrounded the police station, and the number of protesters continues to grow.

What is the matter?
The entire issue stems from a CJP protest at Jantar Mantar in the capital, Delhi. It was there that Sanjay Kumar, father of Nishu Azad, was assaulted. He sustained a severe head injury during the attack. Since the incident, the CJP had been demanding the arrest of the accused from the Delhi Police, but the police had failed to take strict action.
Recently, however, a podcast clip has given the case a new turn. In the video, Swatantra Bhardwaj confessed to striking Sanjay Kumar on the head. He also stated that no significant legal action had been taken against him due to political influence.
CJP swings into action after the video surfaces
As soon as the video surfaced, leaders of the Cockroach Janata Party immediately became active. CJP spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, along with their supporters, marched from Patel Chowk to the Sansad Marg Police Station. Nishu Azad, the daughter of the victim, also arrived at the station herself to push for speedy justice in the case.
Upon reaching the police station, Ashutosh Ranka levelled a serious allegation. Speaking to the media, he stated that Sanjay ji had been brutally assaulted during the protest at Jantar Mantar. He sustained severe head injuries in the incident. Furthermore, he stated that Sourav Das and his entire team had been demanding from the very beginning that the Delhi Police arrest the accused and register a case of attempted murder against them; yet, despite this, no action had been taken so far.

No action due to political pressure
Ashutosh Ranka questioned why the Delhi Police remains silent even now, when the individuals involved in the incident are openly admitting that they attacked Sanjay-ji and attempted to kill him. He alleged that the Delhi Police is failing to take concrete action due to pressure from Kapil Mishra and BJP workers and leaders.
