New Delhi: Most parts of India are currently experiencing a spell of monsoon rains, leading to worsening conditions and disrupting normal life. Temperatures have dropped, bringing people relief from the scorching heat. Cloudy skies have prevailed since morning in the national capital, Delhi, the NCR, and surrounding areas.
A drop in temperature is being recorded in several parts of Uttar Pradesh due to rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder is also occurring in Bihar and Jharkhand. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall warnings have been issued for 10 states across the country. Weather Forecast for Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi and the entire NCR region may witness spells of heavy rainfall. IMD data indicates generally cloudy skies for September 3. Heavy rain warnings have been issued for several parts of the capital. Meanwhile, very light rain or drizzles are expected between the afternoon and evening hours.
The maximum temperature in Delhi is forecast to range between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds are expected to remain generally between 5 and 25 kilometres per hour.
Likelihood of Heavy Rain in Madhya Pradesh
A strong low-pressure system has become active over northeastern Madhya Pradesh. Warnings for heavy rain accompanied by intense thunderstorms have been issued for several districts in eastern Madhya Pradesh for September 3. The IMD has formally issued a ‘Red Alert’ for the eastern region of the state. Certain isolated areas could receive over 20 centimetres of rainfall within 24 hours.
This situation is likely to cause waterlogging in low-lying areas and potentially lead to flood-like conditions. The administration has also stepped up surveillance in sensitive areas. Meanwhile, weather conditions in western Madhya Pradesh have turned adverse; heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning strikes is forecast for several locations. The Meteorological Centre has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for western Madhya Pradesh.
Rain Warning for Parts of UP
Residents of Uttar Pradesh may witness harsh weather conditions on Thursday. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in western Uttar Pradesh on September 3. Significant cloud cover is expected in the region from the morning itself, with the likelihood of torrential downpours in several districts by the afternoon. A heavy rain alert is in effect for parts of western UP. In contrast, monsoon activity is expected to be somewhat limited in eastern Uttar Pradesh, where light to moderate or scattered rainfall is likely.
Rain Alert for Maharashtra
The Meteorological Department has indicated that the monsoon system is becoming fully active across Maharashtra. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall, specifically for the Vidarbha region. Strong rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in most districts of Vidarbha on September 3; alerts regarding lightning and intense thunder have also been issued for the area.
Parts of central Maharashtra may experience scattered thunderstorms and lightning strikes on Thursday. Rainfall intensity is expected to vary across Marathwada and the coastal regions of Konkan-Goa, with warnings of widespread rainfall issued for most locations in Konkan and Goa.
