MCD working to beautify Delhi ahead of BRICS Summit

Ahead of the BRICS Summit in Delhi, the Municipal Corporation has launched a special campaign to enhance the city’s cleanliness and beauty. MCD teams are engaged in cleaning, road maintenance and improving public places in different areas.

The campaign is focused on key locations where delegates associated with the Summit are expected to travel. To keep the venues and main routes clean and tidy, the concerned departments have been instructed to complete the work expeditiously.

Municipal Corporation officials have also been warned not to show any negligence in their work. Following instructions to fix personal accountability of officials, the concerned teams are busy completing the campaign on time.

Emphasis on cleanliness and city beautification

This MCD campaign focuses not only on regular cleaning but also on beautifying key areas of Delhi. Various civic services have been activated to manage public spaces and routes connected to the Summit.

Along with removing garbage and dirt accumulated on the roadsides, places where additional cleaning is needed are being identified. The concerned teams have been asked to keep constant vigil in their respective areas.

The campaign aims to present a better picture of the city to foreign delegates and other guests visiting Delhi during the Summit. For this, the corporation teams are trying to complete the work within the stipulated time frame.

Action on stray animals

The campaign also focuses on controlling stray animals, especially street dogs. Surveillance on such activities has been increased around major routes and venues.
