New Delhi: Candidates who missed their exam due to a power outage at two centres in Jaipur associated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have received good news. Preparations are proceeding rapidly to re-conduct the exam for these affected candidates on September 7, 2026; departmental preparations for this are already complete.
The affected centres, RJ0101 and RJ0102, are located at the TCS-operated iON Digital Zone in Sitapura, Jaipur. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards again, so there is no need for concern.

AIIMS has officially announced that the exam for candidates registered at these centres is now scheduled for September 7, 2026. Arrangements are being made to secure suitable centres to accommodate all affected candidates. This decision follows the disruption of the exam that began at 9:00 AM on August 31. AIIMS stated that the new date was issued after cancelling the exam at both centres, keeping the candidates’ interests in mind and ensuring fairness and transparency in the recruitment process.
Exam stages
The exam was scheduled to be held in three stages across August 31 and September 1, allowing candidates who applied for multiple posts to appear for all relevant exams. A total of 30,142 candidates registered for this exam. For the first shift on August 31, 21,098 candidates were registered.
Of these, 16,193 appeared for the exam. A total of 2,000 candidates had registered at the two affected Jaipur centres. Specifically, 1,342 candidates at centre RJ0101 and 436 at centre RJ0102 appeared for the exam before the disruption occurred.
AIIMS Directs TCS to Submit Report
AIIMS has directed TCS to submit a comprehensive report regarding the incident. TCS has also been instructed to preserve system logs, CCTV footage, and control room communications to facilitate an investigation into the irregularities that occurred during the examination. The CRE examination covers various posts, including Junior Administrative Assistant, Senior Administrative Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Personal Assistant, Stenographer, Private Secretary, Receptionist, Junior Medical Records Officer, and others.
Only the candidates affected in Jaipur will be eligible to appear for the re-examination. AIIMS has stated that its examination department is committed to a fair, transparent, and equitable recruitment process. Affected candidates will have the opportunity to take the re-examination on September 7.
