New Delhi: Along with the BJP, the Samajwadi Party (SP) also appears highly active in its preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. With six months remaining until the polls, all parties have geared up for a fierce contest. These elections will prove crucial for both the BJP and the SP. While the BJP is highlighting the development work undertaken during its second term, the SP is raising issues such as unemployment, inflation, law and order, and the theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir.
The SP has fully geared up for the UP Assembly elections and surprised everyone with a major announcement regarding the polls scheduled for 2027. The party is set to launch its election campaign tomorrow, Tuesday; SP chief and former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has made the formal announcement.

Akhilesh Yadav Makes a Major Announcement
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav made a significant announcement while speaking to the media on Monday. He stated that the party’s election campaign would commence tomorrow, Tuesday. Yadav made this announcement from the SP office on Monday, reiterating that the campaign is set to begin the following day.
He noted that preparations are complete and the campaign will have a wide reach. The SP chief stated that the goal is to take the party to the booth level and form a ‘PDA’ government. Additionally, Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of manipulating the voter list, alleging that the party is including the names of outsiders in the electoral rolls.

‘PDA’ Members in Police Department Facing Hardships
During a press conference in the capital, Lucknow, he sharply criticised the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government. He alleged that injustice is being meted out to members of the ‘PDA’ community within the police department. He claimed that individuals from the PDA community are not assigned field postings and are denied emergency leave, causing them significant distress. He also asserted that the SP would form the government in the 2027 elections. SP advances its election campaign with the ‘PDA’ strategy.
The Samajwadi Party, which inflicted the heaviest losses on the BJP in Uttar Pradesh during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections using the ‘PDA’ formula, is now focused on further refining this strategy. The SP intends to contest the next battle based on this very formula. However, the nomenclature of ‘PDA’ has undergone changes from time to time; ‘Pandits’ (Brahmins) have now been accorded prominence alongside the ‘Pichhde’ (Backward classes) within the framework.
