New Delhi: Good news is on the horizon for farmers associated with the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The Modi government at the Centre is set to release the 24th instalment of ₹2,000 under this scheme. While there were earlier claims that the funds would be released by Raksha Bandhan, that timeline proved incorrect.

Now, the instalment amount for the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is likely to be released either in late September or in October. More than 9 crore farmers will benefit from this 24th instalment. If you haven’t completed certain essential tasks yet, do not delay. We are outlining these necessary steps here to clear up any confusion you might have.

When might the instalment be released?

The wait for the 24th instalment of 2,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is not over yet for farmers. The government may release the funds in September or October. However, no official update has been issued so far. This estimate is based on the government’s practice of releasing instalments every four months.

The government released the 23rd instalment on June 20, 2026, transferring ₹18,880 crore to the accounts of over 9.44 crore farmers. To avail the benefits of the next instalment, farmers must complete tasks such as e-KYC; otherwise, they may face difficulties.

Farmers should complete e-KYC before the instalment

Farmers wishing to benefit from the scheme’s 24th instalment must first visit pmkisan.gov.in and complete a few essential tasks. Completing e-KYC is mandatory; failure to do so could result in the instalment being held up.

Complete e-KYC via Aadhaar OTP

To do this, first visit the official PM-KISAN portal.

Then, click on the ‘e-KYC’ option available on the homepage.

Next, enter your Aadhaar number and submit the details. After this, you will receive an OTP on the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar.

Once you enter the OTP and submit it, your e-KYC process will be easily completed.

Get your mobile number linked as well.

If your mobile number is not linked to your Aadhaar, you will need to visit your nearest Common Service Centre.

You will need to carry your Aadhaar card and an active mobile number with you.

Then, the operator there will complete the e-KYC process using biometric (fingerprint/iris) verification.

Number of annual instalments

For your information, under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the Central Government transfers ₹6,000 annually in three instalments of ₹2,000 each. There is a gap of four months between each instalment. This scheme was launched to support the economic advancement of farmers and assist with expenses related to fertilisers and seeds
