Gift For Delhi Women Before Raksha Bandhan, Rs 2500 Credited To Accounts

New Delhi: Women in Delhi have received a major gift just two days before Raksha Bandhan. The Delhi government has transferred the first instalment of the ‘Lakshmi Yojana’ to the women’s accounts. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta transferred the first instalment of the scheme to the bank accounts of beneficiary women during an event held at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday.

However, the funds will actually be credited to the accounts on September 1st, as the scheme was launched with the aim of making women financially self-reliant. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta stated, “I am happy that under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, we are fulfilling the promises made in our manifesto. We launched the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana on August 1st to provide ₹2,500 per month to the women of Delhi. We have also handed over approval letters to the first 2,500 beneficiaries under the scheme.

“Once the women’s bank accounts and CBDC wallets are opened, the funds will be deposited into their accounts on September 1st. I am delighted that the women of Delhi are happy, and we are working to fulfil our promises regarding their dignity, safety, and self-reliance.”

Monthly amount to be received

The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana came into effect on August 1st. The government has so far completed the registration of over 6 lakh women for this scheme. Under this scheme, beneficiaries will be provided ₹2,500 per month. However, this ₹2,500 cannot be used entirely at once; out of the ₹2,500, ₹1,500 will be placed in a Fixed Deposit (FD) in their account, and the remaining ₹1,000 will be provided in digital currency—specifically for digital transactions.

How ​​to check application status

To check the status, one must first visit the official Delhi Lakshmi Yojana portal at dly.delhi.gov.in. Next, you need to click on the ‘Track Application’ option visible on the homepage.

A new page will then open. Here, you will need to enter your reg. istered mobile number, date of birth, and the captcha code displayed on the screen.

After that, click on the ‘Sign In’ button; the application status will then appear on the screen.

Not all women will receive the benefits of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, as certain conditions have been established. The woman must be between 21 and 60 years of age. Additionally, the family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh. Furthermore, the woman must be a registered voter in Delhi.

It is also mandatory for either her husband or her parents to have been residents of Delhi for at least 10 years as of the application date. Additionally, the family’s electricity consumption over the preceding 12 months must not exceed 2,400 units.
