New Delhi: The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) is once again set to take to the streets of the national capital, New Delhi, for a foot march, an event that has already been announced. The CJP has declared that the march will take place on September 5, proceeding from India Gate to the New Delhi Police Headquarters. The party has alleged that the promises made by the government in the agreement reached on July 25, 2026, remain unfulfilled.
The march will be led by students affected by issues surrounding the NEET exam and the families of those who fell victim to police brutality. The CJP has appealed to students, youth organisations, and young citizens from across the country to join the protest.
Why the CJP announced the foot march
The announcement of the September 5 march by the CJP has sparked renewed discussion. CJP Co-convenor Sourav Das posted the party’s statement on X (formerly Twitter). According to the statement, the CJP’s National Working Committee met to review the implementation of firm promises made to the nation’s youth on July 25, 2026, by the central government and states governed by the BJP and NDA.
It was based on these very promises that the decision to withdraw nationwide youth protests had been made. Committee members expressed serious doubts regarding whether the government intends to honour its word. The CJP stated that, over the past month, the government has resorted to stalling tactics instead of implementing the firm promises made.
The government has relied on technicalities and avoided making clear commitments before the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, on August 18, the Supreme Court repeatedly sought a list of FIRs registered across the country from the central government; however, the CJP is still awaiting a written assurance from the government.

The Cockroach Janata Party stated that this situation cannot continue any longer. The party emphasised that its patience should not be mistaken for weakness. Furthermore, the party asserted that the government cannot exploit its good faith to betray it. Therefore, the National Working Committee has unanimously decided to call for a peaceful protest in New Delhi on September 5, 2026. The primary condition for calling off the agitation was the withdrawal of FIRs registered against the protesters. Now, the CJP states that the government has not yet withdrawn all the cases. Once again, the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ has announced a foot march.
