Chilli Powder Thrown In Eyes In Murderous Attack On Police, Women Thrashed Them With Sticks

New Delhi: Even police personnel no longer feel safe in the capital, Delhi, where they are being targeted and attacked. A life-threatening attack was launched against Delhi Police personnel, creating a critical situation. Officers on duty in the Bhalswa Dairy police station area were beaten after chilli powder was thrown into their eyes.

The incident reportedly took place around 3 PM on Saturday in the Janata Vihar area of ​​Mukundpur. A large crowd was seen attacking the Delhi Police personnel. The police have initiated action in the matter; a minor has been detained, while the others fled the scene and are currently being sought. All the accused involved in the attack will soon be identified and arrested.

Reason for the attack on the police

Beat staff Head Constables Dinesh and Rajesh were conducting a patrolling and checking operation in the area. During this, they intercepted a motorcycle that lacked valid documents. As the paperwork was missing, the bike was impounded and taken to the police station. Later, around 3:30 PM, the bike’s owner and some family members arrived to protest the police action.

As the dispute escalated, the gathered crowd launched an attack. The accused threw chilli powder into the officers’ eyes and assaulted them with bricks and sticks. Head Constable Tinu, who arrived to assist, was also attacked. Several police personnel sustained serious injuries in the assault and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.

Minor detained

Meanwhile, with the help of locals, the police detained a 17-year-old minor at the scene. The other accused fled after the incident. The prime absconding accused, Sunil (alias Pankaj), has a history of criminal behaviour in the area.

According to the Delhi Police, five criminal cases have previously been registered against Sunil, including two cases under the NDPS Act. Police teams are currently conducting raids to apprehend the remaining accused.

The attack on the police personnel was premeditated

An eyewitness stated that the attack on the police was carefully orchestrated. The assailants arrived armed with sticks and clubs. They began bythrowing chillii powder into the police personnel’s eyes, followed by blows with the sticks and clubs.

They had been searching for the police for quite some time. The police are currently retrieving CCTV footage to apprehend the accused. All the accused will be arrested soon following the investigation. A minor boy has also been taken into custody and is being questioned.
