New Delhi: The central government is running schemes that are helping farmers realise their dream of prosperity. If you are registered under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the wait for the next instalment will soon be over. The funds for the scheme’s next instalment, specifically the 24th instalment, could be released by the last week of October, bringing great news for farmers.

Farmers Should Complete Essential Tasks

To receive the ₹2,000 payment for the 24th instalment of the PMKisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, you must complete certain formalities. Obtaining a ‘Farmer ID’ has been made mandatory. Now, whenever you purchase fertiliser, you will be required to present this Farmer ID. In May, the Uttar Pradesh government announced that fertiliser would be provided only to farmers possessing a valid ID.

Additionally, land records may be verified. The government has taken this measure against the misuse of fertiliser to ensure that the supply reaches farmers who genuinely need it. You can easily get your Farmer ID made by following a few simple steps.

How to Get a Farmer ID

To obtain a Farmer ID, small and marginal farmers must first visit their state’s official ‘Agri-State Farmer Registry’ website. For instance, farmers from Uttar Pradesh must visit the UP Agri-State website. Next, click on the ‘Farmer’ tab and then select the option to create a new user account. Following this, you will need to enter your 21-digit Aadhaar number to complete the e-KYC process.

After that, submit the OTP sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. Then, fill in your personal details, verify them, and add your land survey or plot records. Once the application is submitted and approved, you can download your digital Farmer ID card certificate.

When will the farmer scheme instalment be released?

The 24th instalment of the government scheme is likely to be released in October or November. An official date has not yet been announced by the government. The instalment is typically released approximately three months after the previous one; the 23rd instalment was credited to farmers’ accounts on June 20. The government-finalised date will be updated on the portal.
