New Delhi: Incidents of irregularities in government job recruitment exams and rigging in the selection process are on the rise across the country. Questions are being raised regarding recruitment exams in several states, including Jharkhand, where students have been continuously protesting. Amidst this, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has issued a stern warning to the government regarding alleged scams in government job recruitment.
He has warned the government that he might launch a protest. Baba Ramdev stated that large-scale irregularities occur during government job interviews, where candidates belonging to specific castes, classes, or organisations are favoured while others are excluded. This warning from Baba Ramdev raises serious questions about the transparency of the ongoing examination processes.
Baba Ramdev Dissatisfied with Recruitment Process
After hoisting the flag on the 80th Independence Day, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev made a significant statement while speaking to the media. He noted that complaints regarding bribery and favouritism during the interview stage of recruitment processes frequently surface. He also highlighted the issue of inadequate facilities in schools and colleges. He further stated that if the system is not improved, he might be compelled to launch a major agitation.
He clarified that while he does not support anarchy or protests, it is essential to rectify the irregularities plaguing the country. Baba Ramdev remarked that there is turmoil all around. He said, “Students in schools and colleges complain about the lack of electricity, water, and books. Even after passing exams, marks from the 10th and 12th grades are not factored in; selection is based on competitive examinations.”
Allegations of Scams in Interviews
Baba Ramdev alleged that scams involving 90 to 99 per cent of the process occur during government job interviews. He claimed that candidates belonging to specific organisations, castes, or classes are selected, while others are rejected. He described this practice as unjust, noting that recruitment often involves the exchange of money or bribes during interviews. He reiterated that if the situation does not improve, a nationwide protest will ensue, adding, “I do not support protests or anarchy, but there is rampant corruption in the country.” Rectify this; otherwise, Baba Ramdev might be forced to launch a protest.
Baba Ramdev’s appeal to politicians
Baba Ramdev did not stop there; he urged the country’s politicians to work in the national interest instead of squabbling among themselves. He stated that politicians should not fight one another. There are external entities—such as Pakistan and foreign powers—to contend with; internal infighting should be avoided. He remarked that harbouring hatred is wrong and that the positive developments taking place in the country ought to be appreciated. Baba Ramdev emphasised that one should not hate others.
