New Delhi: Weather conditions across most parts of India are shifting rapidly, resulting in a spell of heavy rainfall. The rains have brought the pace of daily life to a complete standstill. Continuous rainfall in both mountainous and plain regions has caused rivers, streams, and ponds to overflow. In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rains have led to a significant rise in the water levels of the Ganga, Yamuna, Sharda, and Kosi rivers.
Many areas in Varanasi are submerged. There appears to be no immediate respite from the rain in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh either. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across several states. Here are the details regarding the expected weather conditions.

Rainfall Forecast for UP
Cloudy skies have prevailed in Uttar Pradesh since morning, resulting in continuous rainfall. Water levels in 11 major rivers, including the Ganga, Yamuna, and Sharda, have risen. In Varanasi, the rising water levels have submerged over 100 small temples.
Devotees are unable to reach the temples. No relief is expected in Uttar Pradesh anytime soon; heavy rain warnings have been issued for several districts, including Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ballia, Raebareli, and Sonbhadra.
Rainfall Warning for Parts of MP
The IMD has issued a rainfall warning for Madhya Pradesh. A strong monsoon system is reported to be active over the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in the Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions and has issued a heavy rain alert for 12 districts across the state.
Flood Havoc in Arunachal Pradesh
In the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, heavy rains have disrupted daily life, causing significant distress to the residents. Large parts of the state are reeling under the impact of floods, with two shelters having been washed away by the floodwaters. Reports indicate that five military personnel are missing following this incident; a rescue operation is currently underway to locate them. Separately, four people lost their lives in a landslide at a road construction site in the Upper Subansiri district.
Landslides in Himachal Pradesh
Heavy rainfall is being witnessed across most parts of Himachal Pradesh. Landslides in hilly areas are disrupting traffic, causing commuters to face significant congestion. Landslides occurred at multiple locations near the Bilaspur-Solan border on Friday, resulting in the complete blockage of 114 roads.

Forecast of Heavy Rain in These States
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Odisha. Additionally, warnings for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning have been issued for various areas in Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Haryana. Intense rainfall activity is also expected in several parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan.
