Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day. He stated that a nation becomes great and achieves success when it moves forward driven by its dreams, resolutions, and inherent capabilities. PM Modi emphasised that the country can no longer progress with small dreams.
We must dream big, as big dreams broaden our horizons. Our resolutions must be firm; when a resolution is steadfast, the ability to find a way through difficulties and disasters emerges naturally. He further added that our resolutions should be lofty, for when dreams and resolutions are high, our capabilities and efforts rise to meet them, enabling us to turn those dreams into reality.
The Entire Nation Stands Together During Disasters
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “My dear countrymen, parts of the country have recently witnessed the havoc of floods. Many families have been affected by this disaster. We deeply empathise with their pain and suffering. I assure the affected families that we, and the entire nation, stand with them.” Speaking from the Red Fort, PM Modi reiterated that the country can no longer move forward with small dreams; big dreams expand the scope of our thinking.
