New Delhi: A harrowing incident has emerged from the US, where indiscriminate firing has sparked panic. On Saturday afternoon, a gunman opened fire indiscriminately in a busy shopping area in Twin Falls, Idaho. Three people were killed in the shooting. Several others sustained serious injuries, raising the possibility that the death toll could rise.
The injured have been hospitalised. The gunman targeted people directly. Upon receiving news of the tragic incident, police arrived at the scene and shot the attacker dead upon encountering him. The US has witnessed such incidents of gun violence in the past as well.
Local official provides details.
Speaking to CNN, a city official shared key details about the incident. The official stated that the event occurred around 2:30 PM local time on Saturday. The attacker suddenly began firing in a shopping area near a popular ‘In-N-Out Burger’ restaurant.
The sound of gunfire caused chaos, with people seen fleeing for their lives. Upon learning of the incident, police immediately cordoned off the area. The attacker was asked to surrender but continued firing. He was subsequently shot dead by police in retaliatory action.

Meanwhile, a video is going viral on social media. It shows a man brandishing a modern AR-style rifle in front of the In-N-Out Burger restaurant. Another video shows the man firing shots in the parking lot. Panic gripped the area following the tragic incident, with people seen running in all directions to save themselves.
Police swing into action immediately.
The Twin Falls Police Department took immediate action upon the incident’s occurrence. Within about an hour, officials announced that there was no longer any threat from the attacker. Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks stated at a press conference that the suspected gunman, who was present near the scene of the incident, had been shot and killed. There is no longer any danger to the community. We are working to identify the attacker and determine the motive behind the attack.

Bridge Temporarily Closed
US authorities have temporarily suspended traffic on the bridge and on the surrounding roads to the shopping area as a security measure. Twin Falls, a city with a population of over 55,000, has become the latest area in the US to be struck by a mass shooting.
Meanwhile, a series of shooting incidents in recent months at common public venues such as food festivals, parades, places of worship, and community events have once again raised serious questions regarding gun laws and public safety in the United States.
