The government has introduced a new initiative for women in Uttar Pradesh: the Rani Laxmibai Scooty Scheme. The Yogi government approved this proposal for the 2025-26 period. Under this scheme, the top five female students in every college will be provided with a free scooty by the government.
The primary objective is to encourage meritorious female students, facilitate their higher education and future employment prospects, and make their commute easier.
Eligibility Criteria
To avail of the benefits of this scheme, a woman must be a native resident of the state. Regarding academic qualifications, the benefit is reserved for the top five female students pursuing undergraduate studies in government or private colleges.
Additionally, the family income of the applicant is a factor; the free scooty will be provided if the annual family income is less than ₹12 lakh. Notably, priority is given to girls from destitute backgrounds or families of martyrs.

Beyond just the scooty, the government may also provide 5 liters of free petrol. Furthermore, the government covers the costs for RTO registration and vehicle insurance, ensuring all necessary facilities are provided.

You will be required to provide details such as your mobile number, Aadhaar number, and roll number, and fill in the other necessary fields. Additionally, upload your mark sheet, income certificate, and residence certificate.
Finally, click the submit button to complete the application. Once your college verifies your eligibility and other details, the government will hand over the keys and documents for the scooty during a formal ceremony.
