Government Scheme

New Delhi: The government runs specific schemes to ensure a bright future and progress for women. If you are a resident of Maharashtra, the government is set to release funds soon. You have likely heard of the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’ (Beloved Sister Scheme) implemented by the Maharashtra government.

A major question remains regarding when the state government will release the instalment for July. While the transfer of funds for the June instalment has already begun, women enrolled in the Ladki Bahin Yojana are eagerly awaiting the July instalment.

There is uncertainty about when the ₹1,500 for this month will be credited. It was initially expected that the instalments for both June and July would be transferred simultaneously, but that did not happen. However, the wait for this instalment will end before August, although there has been no official announcement yet.

How many women did not receive the instalment?

Approximately 2.5 crore women were benefiting from Maharashtra’s Ladki Bahin Yojana. However, the names of about 92 lakh women have been removed from the scheme, and funds have not been transferred to their accounts. According to reports, around 1.5 crore women are currently benefiting from the scheme. If you had not completed your e-KYC or did not meet the eligibility criteria, your name was removed from the scheme.

Will names be added back to the scheme?

There is some good news for the women whose names were removed from the Ladki Bahin Yojana. The department has indicated that a cross-verification process will be conducted for women whose names were removed despite meeting the eligibility criteria.

Citing Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare, some media reports state that this process has already begun. Meanwhile, women with an annual income of less than ₹2.5 lakh continue to receive benefits under the scheme. Many women had their names removed specifically because they failed to complete their e-KYC. The department had allowed ample time for this task to be completed.

Government to re-examine women’s records.

It is worth noting that the records of such women will be re-examined; the state government has already finalised preparations for this process. The aim is to ensure that women who have applied for both the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana and the Ladki Bahin Yojana but are currently not receiving benefits from either receive the benefits of at least one of these schemes.

The state government’s objective is to extend the benefits of the scheme to eligible women so that no one is left out.
